Trailbound Homelab

An enterprise-hardware lab used to learn, build, break, recover and operate real self-hosted infrastructure.

Overview

What it is

The homelab is the foundation underneath most Trailbound Tech projects. Its core is enterprise server hardware running Proxmox with ZFS-backed storage, high-speed networking, containerized services and GPU workloads.

It functions less like a single home server and more like a small infrastructure platform.

Goals

Provide hands-on experience with the infrastructure layers normally hidden behind managed services: hypervisors, storage, routing, identity, reverse proxies, backups, hardware acceleration, service recovery and automation.

Enterprise hardware, home scale

Datacenter hardware provides room to experiment with storage, networking, virtualization and GPU workloads.

Recovery matters

Migrations, restore procedures, storage repair and service recovery are part of the project.

Platform for everything else

Most Trailbound Tech software projects run here or are developed against services hosted here.
