Overview

What it is

The media stack began as a Jellyfin deployment and grew into a broader infrastructure project involving automated library management, download routing, GPU transcoding, client-access troubleshooting, storage organization and service observability.

Goals

Coordinate storage, permissions, container networking, VPN policy routing, metadata automation, transcoding, reverse proxying and recovery in one system.

End-to-end system

Storage, applications, network paths, GPU access and client behavior all have to work together.

Operational lessons

Permissions, path consistency, GPU access, routing and reverse-proxy behavior have all been real troubleshooting exercises.
